Yu Matsumoto, DO (he/him)

Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine Specialist

Dr. Matsumoto spent his formative years romping around northern CA in the town of Sebastopol. He ventured off to learn some of the dysfunctions of the world and its complex interconnectedness during his time at University of California Santa Barbara in the Global Studies program. Carried by the youthful momentum of wanting to be a positive agent of change, he went to medical school at Touro University in Vallejo, CA. He was immediately enthralled with osteopathic manipulative medicine (OMM) as a witness, patient, and practitioner. He moved to Corvallis for his internship and family medicine residency training for its great OMM opportunities. Although his training has been somewhat conventional, he has stayed inline with the osteopathic approach to treat the whole person. He has focused his efforts to let health express itself in our complex interconnected bodies by addressing areas of restriction through OMM.

He treats infants, children, and adults, including pregnant women from a traditional osteopathic approach. OMM can be helpful for somatic pain, traumatic injuries, and chronic conditions unresponsive to conventional treatment.

Dr. Matsumoto is a member of the Cranial Academy and American Osteopathic Association.

Outside of the office, Dr. Matsumoto can be found cooking, hiking, painting, and/or traveling with his wife, daughter, and son. He can also be found on the ice playing hockey, primarily in Eugene.
