Cindy Thelen (she/her)

Cindy is a graduate student at Prescott College, earning her master's degree in mental health counseling with a somatic emphasis. Her background includes helping to relieve human suffering as a community organizer, direct service provider, craniosacral therapist, and Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA). She has provided grief support through a local hospice since 2021.

Cindy welcomes a diverse clientele facing a variety of challenges, working with them in the context of their family, culture, and the social forces that impact them. She takes a relational approach to her work, believing that health and healing stem from meaningful connections to self, humans, animals, and nature. She draws on attachment theory and neuroscience and is training in the Gottman approach to relationship and sexuality counseling. If clients desire, we can explore and strengthen their connection to their body and spirituality.

Cindy enjoys spending time with her friends, children, and grandchildren. She lives in Corvallis, where she likes to work out, play word puzzles, read, and ride her bicycle (which she considers one of the greatest inventions).
